1.) What's your name?

Esmee Kincaid

2.) Do you know why you were named that

Sigh, Yes I do and it's actually a little embarrassing. My father was a War mage, a rather well known war mage and he thought that it would be oh so cute to have a kid whose name meant Esteemed Battle-Leader, gah. Thank the Gods most people don't have a clue that's what my name means!

3.) Are you single or taken?

Currently single, seems to be the story of my life. I don't know if it's because I am horribly shy around men or due to that unfortunate incident with Clay when I was a 16. I kind of accidently set him on fire in class. It was an accident I swear! He distracted me when I was working a spell and let's just say it wasn't pretty. He was okay once all his hair and um eyebrows grew back. But everyone avoided me like the plague after that.

4.) Have any abilities or powers?

I am witch so my magick lets me do a lot of neat stuff. But my favorite thing is creating new and complex spells though I will admit that some times they don't always work out the way I intended. Fortunately Rin doesn't mind too much as long as I don't blow up the building, I haven't had the courage to mention the little incident with the troll a few days ago.  So please don't say anything to her yet, oaky? I still haven't managed to get the stink out of the shop, who knew trolls were so slimy, or maybe he just came from a swampy area.  We didn't really get a chance to discuss it.  He kind of freaked out at suddenly finding himself naked and in my shop (and yes, I really wish I could un-see that).  Needless to say I think that transportation spell needs a little more work.

5.) Stop being a Mary-Sue

Well, that's a really nice thing to say! Sheesh I was the only one you could get to agree to this little interview. A Mary-Sue my A**! I suggest we move on to the next question before I change my mind about this whole thing.

6.) Uh...if you were to get in a fight with a strong wrestler, do you think you'd win?

(Laughs) Yes my 5 ft 4 inch self could easily tackle the big strong wrestler. Haaha – take that you scurvy nave! I shall defeat you with my awesome kick of doom (and yes I am being sarcastic in case you couldn't tell). I definitely couldn't win against a wrestler in a physical fight, now if I could use my magick well that's a whole different story.

7.) Riiiight... Have any family members?

Both of my parents were killed when I was 18. I think that I might have a few aunts and uncles living somewhere but I don't know for sure as I have never met them and my parents only mentioned them once saying that they were best left alone.

8.) Oh? How about pets?

I have an orange tabby cat named Berticus Maximus. I found him in an alley a few years ago. I don't know why people are so scared of him. I agree he looks like an old warrior. He's missing part of his right ear and has a long scar on his face that runs through his left eye but once you get past his prickly exterior he's just a snuggle bug at heart.

9.) Cool, I guess. Tell me something that you don't like.

Spiders! I have nothing against them personally they just give me the heebie-jeebies. I'm okay as long as they keep to their side of the room far way from me. Otherwise I may be forced to take drastic measures such as seeking Bert on them. He seems to find them quite tasty.

10.) Something that you do like?

I love being my own boss and running my shop.  It's lots of fun and I get to met and help a lot of people which I find really rewarding.

11.) Do you have any activities/hobbies that you like to do?

Aside from crafting spells, potions, tonics & herbal remedies, I like reading Tarot cards for my friends, working in my garden and doing embroidery.

12.) What kind of animal are you?

Hmm, I don't really know, probably something cute and fuzzy.

13.) Name your worst habits.

I tend to swear, a lot. Um, it's not one of my better qualities and I am working on it but sometimes they tend to slip out especially when I'm upset (blushes).

14.) Do you look up to anyone at all?

My parents.  My father and I were really close.  He understood me better than anyone else and was always there with a strong shoulder for me to lean on (or to cry on) when I needed it most.  He would sit and read to me for hours when I was little.  Sometimes late at night when I let my thoughts turn to them, I can almost hear the deep rumble of his voice telling me those stories all over again.  He taught me to expect the unexpected (smiles sadly).  My mother was a patient woman with an easy smile.  She was a very talented witch herself and she taught me a lot of what I know.  She gave me her love of spell work and we used to spend hours creating new things together.  I have never known two people who loved each other more.  Since they died I have felt as if a part of me is missing and sometimes I think they might walk in the door and tell me it was all some horrible mistake. (Looks away blinking back tears)  Sorry, why don't we move on to something else, okay?

15.) Ever want to marry and have kids one day?

I would love to marry and have a family someday. The hard part is finding a) the right guy since we all know how challenged I am in that department and b) He's going to have to understand that I am not giving up my business or my spell work. So he'd have to be a pretty special guy who could love me just as I am, umm and be willing to take the chance that we may have kids who blow things up or accidently set things on fire. Wow just saying this makes me realize that it's probably never going to happen. Sigh, Oh well, I can always aspire to becoming the crazy cat lady.  I can see it now, a whole heard of yowling cats following me around and clinging to my skirts as I mutter to myself.  Hmm, maybe I could market that as instant man repellent.

16.) Do you have any fangirls/fanboys?

I'd have to say a big no on that one and personally I think it would kind of freak me out. I'm really I'm not that interesting.

17.) What are you most afraid of? I promise I won't laugh.

Spiders and heights, I really, really don't like being up in high places.  There is a story to the whole fear of heights thing but I think I'll save that for another day, it is a little embarrassing.

18.) Ok, ok. What color is your hair?

It's just plain old brown with the occasional blond bits if I am out in the sun enough. I try to avoid that though the sun wrecks havoc on my freckles (I swear it's like miracle grow for freckles and believe me it's not pretty I tend to splotch).

19.) Eyes?

Violet

20.) What do you usually wear?

I generally wear conservative light weight gowns, unless I am working in my garden then I like to break out my trusty well worn pants and work shirt.

21.) Ok. What's your religion?

I don't think that I could easily label my beliefs and I don't feel like going into a long theological discussion here. The best I can do is to say that you would probably consider me to be Pagan.

22.) Anyways, where do you live?

In the Kingdom of Enverness, I have a cottage on the outskirts of the city and it has the most wonderful view of the sea.  I have a large garden there where I grow most of the herbs and plants that I sell in my shop and use in my spell work.  I don't have a lot of free time to spend weeding and such these days, so I recently hired two of my neighbor's daughters to help me with that.  They are quite bright and have shown a great interest in what I do and in learning about all the plants.  I have greatly enjoyed teaching them and if I ever closed my shop I would probably try my hand at teaching.

23.) What class are you? (Low class, middle class, high class)

Low to Middle class I guess. Though my parents were rather wealthy after their deaths most of their wealth was confiscated by some rather unpleasant people. But I managed to scamper out of town with some of it which is what allowed me to settle here and set up my shop.

24.) How many friends do you have?

I know a lot of people but there are only a few that I consider to be close friends and there isn't anything I wouldn't do for them.

25.) Alright. What's your favorite food?

(laughs) You mean when I actually remember to eat.  I tend to get a little caught up in my work sometimes (oaky, a lot) and usually the very loud and embarrassing protesting of my stomach is the only thing that reminds me to take a break and eat.  I love food in general, especially rich bad for you comfort food but fruit tarts and chocolate are my favorite, it's therapy for the soul (at least that's what I like tell myself).

26.) What is your favorite place?

I have a spiral path set in the heart of my garden, at its center I have a little fountain, alter and meditation space set up.  At night the air carries the soft fragrance of my garden and I can hear the quiet rush of the sea and watch the stars.  When I feel lost or troubled I like to sit there and mediate or simply enjoy the peace I find there.  It's my sanctuary from the world around me and sometimes even from my self.
My entry to :iconnuisancebeareull: CotM contest.

This is my OC Esmee Kincaid, she is a talented little witch that is a bit of a mad scientist when it comes to creating new spells and such but when they work boy do they work. She loves challening her self and pushing the limits of her magick.

This is very interesting and was fun to read. It makes me want to learn more about your characters. Do you have a story about them posted anywhere?
